We all want better right? A better job, a better house, a better car, better relationships, a better paycheck, etc. etc. How do we get better “things” in life? Do we ask the gods who are holding the strings of empowerment to give us the better things in life? Not hardly.

“People will not do the work required to get what they want until the pain of not having it exceeds the pain of putting in the hard work to get it.”

To get the “better things” in life we must first better ourselves. As odd as it sounds this is not a common thought process practiced by most individuals. Most people want the “better thing” without putting in the work to better themselves to acquire what it is that they desire. Instant gratification, it’s the American way. We want what we want when we want it which is usually now.

Truth be told, people will not do the work required to get what they want until the pain of not having it exceeds the pain of putting in the hard work to get it. That is when true progress towards better begins.

Think of the human mind as a glass. An empty glass is actually full of air. The best way to get rid of that air is to fill the glass with water. Likewise our minds are full of “noise”. To get rid of the “noise” we must replace it with knowledge. The knowledge to make the correct decisions that lead us to the vast blue oceans of possibilities that is better than our current state. The more you fill that glass with the quenching water of knowledge, the less room that “noise” has to occupy your mind and the closer you get to better.
